I'm an open-format DJ — soul, R&B, hip hop, reggae, soca and calypso, Afrobeats, house, disco, Latin, Motown, garage and the classics every generation knows. Not a set I bring with me and play at you, but one built for the room actually in front of me.
That range is the whole point, because a corporate dinner and a villa party at two in the morning need opposite things from a DJ — and most can only do one of them well. I read the brief as carefully as I read the floor: when to sit in the background and let people talk, when to take the room somewhere, and when to simply get out of the way of a night that's already working. Discretion where it's wanted, presence where it's needed.
Behind the open format is a producer's ear. My own sound is global house woven with African, Caribbean, Latin, Middle Eastern and South Asian music — the record bag that works festivals and club nights, and the reason I can go deeper than a playlist when a floor is ready for it. A brand launch, a beach ceremony and a birthday all get the same preparation. They just get a very different night.
