Who is ASET of KEMET?
Before it was a dancefloor, it was a name carried for thousands of years — Aset, the goddess of magic, healing and renewal, from the land her own people called Kemet.
The meaning
Two words, one legacy.
Aset is the original Kemetic — ancient Egyptian — name for the goddess the wider world later came to call Isis. Kemet (kmt) is what the ancient Egyptians called their own homeland: "the black land," after the rich dark soil the Nile left behind each flood. Put together, ASET of KEMET means Aset of ancient Egypt — the goddess named in her own language, from the land where she was first honoured.
It's a deliberate choice. Where most of the world reaches for the Greek name, this name reaches back to the source.

If you know her as Isis, you already know Aset. "Isis" is simply the later Greek form of her original Egyptian name, Aset (sometimes written Auset). Choosing the Kemetic name is a small act of restoration — honouring the goddess in the tongue of the people who first sang to her, rather than the name a later empire gave her.

ASET of KEMET is the artist name of Carolena Andersson, a Barbados-based DJ and producer. I chose the name as a compass, not a costume.
Aset stands for magic, protection, water, healing and rebirth — not as mythology, but as reminders of what people are capable of creating together. I don't claim to be a goddess; I carry the philosophy. ASET of KEMET brings that spirit into contemporary culture through music, design and shared experience.
The sound follows the same idea: global electronic house woven with African, Caribbean, Latin, Middle Eastern and South Asian music — an ancient thought carried into a very present room. That rhythm can restore people. That a dancefloor can be sacred ground.
